What font size do I need? Font size for an A2 poster 14pt - 18pt Font size for an A1 poster 16pt - 24pt Font size for an A0 poster 18pt - 32pt
Can you blow my poster up from a smaller size? Yes AES can blow up from any given 'A' size, look at our handy scale chart to workout your font sizes
A4 to A3 = 141% enlargement A4 to A2 = 200% enlargement A4 to A1 = 283% enlargement A4 to A0 = 400% enlargement
So an A3 to A1 is a 200% enlargement, the font size is doubled and so is the margin, also if you view on screen at the zoomed size (i.e. 200%) this will give you an indication of how your poster will print, pay attention to graphics and logos.
Design tips Use a logical visual flow. Group related information. Use numbering or arrows if linked content should be read in a particular order. Avoid overcomplicating (too much information) and use margins to pad off the edge of the paper or table box to set off your text. Assessment criteria are likely to focus on features such as: Content, Structure, Visual impact & Clarity
Choose colours that complement each other. Certain colours, like yellows, are difficult to see and read. Text and background colours should complement each other, colours of backgrounds should be subtle. Choose a font type that is easy to read like Arial
